Artist Statement: This piece was made while mourning both Palestine and Armenia. The pomegranate is a National fruit in both regions - having them covered by darkness and death was intentional and symbolic. This piece is a loud reminder that we persist, we resist, and we remember. I will always fight hard for Palestine as our struggles are connected. Being Armenian, I am a part of a diaspora that is still being tormented by the same abuser for they have funded the continuation of Armenia's genocide. All abuse is connected at the root of a rotten tree; thankfully, we who love the earth may heal it again.
